As the Head of Culinary Arts at Princess Cruises, Sodamin believes that Britto’s art of love complements his culinary passion. This results in a cherished dining event that leaves cruise passengers with lasting vacation memories.

I recently interviewed Sodamin about his culinary goals with Princess Cruises. He told me that exceptional food and beverages are a top priority for travellers today. So, I am not surprised to learn about his expanding dining choices on the Sun Princess.

Love by Britto menu

Love by Britto is an intimate 68-seat venue featuring an exquisite display of the artist’s familiar and joyful designs against a restaurant backdrop. It is designed to immerse guests in a world of colour, bold patterns, heartfelt emotions, engaging service, and breathtaking romantic ocean views. 

The seven-course dining experience begins with intoxicating aphrodisiacs like Oysters with Lemongrass Kafir, Mirin and Gold Flakes.

Entrees feature creative heart-shaped presentations and include savoury Tuna and avocado, Pomegranate, and Togarashi; cappuccino of Wild Mushroom soup; salad of Beets, Figs, and Goat Cheese; granita of Pink Champagne and Rose Petals; tail of Lobster Thermador; and Succulent Beef Tenderloin and Truffle Jus. In true Love Boat style, the dessert features a heart-shaped Chocolate Lava Cake, Fresh Berries, and raspberry Cream, plus Petits Fours.

Cocktails

Specialty cocktails and an extensive wine list were thoughtfully crafted and selected to complement the menu and are available à la carte. Seven newly crafted, love-themed cocktails were created with offerings including:

• Strawberry Love Potion – Tequila Rose, Disaronno Amaretto, Chambord, Strawberries

• Expresso My Love – Jameson, OM Chocolate Liqueur, Disaronno Amaretto, Demerara, Chocolate Bitters, Espresso

• Britto Coupe – Grey Goose Strawberry and Lemongrass, Aperol, Cointreau, Lime, Strawberries

Each course and cocktail is a testament to Sodamin’s culinary expertise and Britto’s artistic inspiration. 

Additional special touches include vibrant dinnerware featuring Britto’s artwork, heart-folded napkins, and even cutlery with heart-shaped cutouts. Love by Britto carries a cover charge of US$79 per person and can be booked pre-cruise in the Princess app.

The retail design aboard Sun Princess removes traditional boundaries, creating open and spacious areas for extended discovery. Interactive retail and pop-up locations will also add an engaging and exciting retail experience. 

Deck 8 features The Premium Watch Lounge, featuring the first-at-sea Breitling Lounge concept and the latest TAG Heuer boutique design, as well as The Fine Timepieces Boutique, which features a selection of signature timepieces for both men and women from Longines, Rado, Tissot, Hamilton, in addition to pre-owned Rolex watches.

Within The Beauty & Wellness Boutique on Deck 8 guests will find the world’s top cosmetic and skincare brands, such as Chanel, Dior, Lancôme, Estee Lauder, Clinique, and a curated range of sustainable and organic skincare brands including Comfort Zone, Neom Organics, This Works, Rituals and unisex clean skincare by REN Skincare.

The innovative shipboard world-class shopping experience also includes:

Princess Cruises has announced four new production shows that will be featured in the technologically advanced Sun Princess Arena.

The Sun Princess Arena is a highly configurable cruise ship entertainment venue that can support shows in the round, in a 270-degree keyhole configuration, and as a traditional proscenium theatre.

According to Denise Saviss, Vice President of Entertainment Experience for Princess Cruises, the Sun Princess Arena is an impressive feat of engineering that creates breathtaking entertainment, providing guests with a unique experience each night. The venue has modern stages, enchanting lighting design, and immersive surround sound, which will surely deliver phenomenal performances on every voyage.

Headlining the entertainment line-up are three new productions featuring the incredible talents of the Sun Princess troupe with four lead vocalists, 13 top dancers, and eight Dome Cirque artists in various performances.

Vallora, a Pirate Quest

Experience the latest thrilling theatrical production- Vallora, A Pirate Quest! Created and directed by Danny Teeson, the acclaimed choreographer from “American Idol,” Pirates features an upbeat, nostalgic 80s soundtrack that includes classic hits such as Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams,” Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” Chicago’s “You’re the Inspiration,” and Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” The show follows the intrepid and daring heroine Vallora as she embarks on a swashbuckling pirate adventure in search of lost treasures and, above all, family and love. Stage Struck

Check out the latest addition to our collection – Stage Struck! This musical theater celebration includes some fantastic performances such as “On Broadway” from Smokey Joe’s Café, “Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady, “Take Me or Leave Me” from Rent, and “One Night Only” from Dreamgirls. The show is directed and choreographed by Karen Bruce, who has worked on “So You Think You Can Dance” for BBC and several other productions in the West End.

‘Viva La Música’

Introducing the new musical experience ‘Viva La Música’ by the renowned Latin American choreographer Liz Imperio. She has choreographed concert tours for well-known singers like Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, and Gloria Estefan. The concert features Latin soundtrack favorites such as “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You” by Miami Sound Machine, “Havana” by Camila Cabello, “Oye Como Va” by Santana, and “I Like It Like That” by Pete Rodriguez. The concert is an immersive experience where a dance couple invites guests to join them on the dance floor and groove to the Latin Grammy inspired music.

Fiera!

The Sun Princess Arena experience includes the reimagined version of Princess Favorite with Fiera! The story takes place in a colourful European fairground at the turn of the last century. The tale is told through a masterfully curated selection of popular songs, including Guns & Roses’ “Sweet Child of Mine” and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” Renowned choreographer Danny Teeson directs the show, featuring a large cast of brilliantly costumed performers who bring the story to life with mesmerizing dance moves. The set is vibrant and complemented by a stunning digital backdrop, providing a visually spectacular experience for all.
