The exquisite outdoor experience, created with No Limits Helicopters, starts off with an unforgettable 45-minute helicopter tour. On the menu are thoughtfully curated and prepared savoury and sweet bites, complete with Classic and Blueberry-Orange Scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and a selection of artisanal marmalades.

Salmon Vol au Vent is a flaky pastry with silken smoked-salmon, preserved lemon, crispy fennel, and fresh dill; Brioche Pillow is a decadent 24-hour slow-cooked short rib with wild mushroom duxelle resting atop soft house-made brioche bread.

A Crispy Cheese Basket comes with baked phyllo pastry, light blue cheese labneh, caramelized pecan, fresh berries, and balsamic reduction. Foie Gras Gougeres are a delightful indulgence with foie gras mousse, candied orange peel, honey apple compote, and Grand Marnier.

For sweets, there’s a traditional New York-style Cheesecake with juicy, fresh berries; gluten-free Infinity Cake with fine 70% cacao chocolate; and divine Pecan and Chocolate Tarte. Assorted colourful macarons top the tier.

Le Dîner en Blanc is a magical event that began in Paris in 1988 which recalls the elegance and glamour of French high society. Where thousands of guests dressed in all white gather at a secret location for the sole purpose of sharing a gourmet meal and drinking champagne with close friends in one of their city’s beautiful public places.

Guest are not told of the secret location until late afternoon on the day of the event, an amazing experience as thousands all dressed in white celebrate together at the public venue.

All guest must observe the following event rules: dress stylist in white only, your table setting must be all white and Champagne and/or wine can only be purchased onsite due to BC alcohol laws.

Guest must bring a small white table, white chairs and a white table cloth. Plus, a picnic basket comprising of fine food, proper stemware and white dinnerware. A catered picnic basket option is available on site for those who do not wish to pack their own meal and can be ordered online.

At the conclusion of the evening, all guests is required to leave the location as clean as they arrived, and depart with all their belongings, including their left overs and litter.

Held at Hastings Racecourse, we saw an abundance of hats with flowers and feathers in bold colours paired with stylist dresses both long and short, accessorized with heels, gloves and mirrored sunglasses.

Even with the hot weather during the weekend, the men attending the race did not disappoint. 

We observed gentlemen in top hats with tails, colourful embroidery blazers and some flamboyant tailoring. Some opted for a summer look of a shirt, vest and vibrant bowtie paired with shorts.

The Deighton Cup drew thousands of fashionable race fans, many sipping on Piper-Heidsieck champagne while enjoying a tasty light lunch from Earls. Attendees had a menu choice of a tuna bowl, chicken sandwich or a veggie burger.

Or you can have a professional photo of you and your outfit taken onsite at the self-nomination centre from 12 noon to 2 pm.

Stylist men and women on the race grounds aren’t the only appeal of the Deighton Cup. You can try your luck on eight energy charged horse races, indulge on French Champagne, Acadian Sturgeon, caviar and fresh oysters, view luxury supercars and dance at the “After Track” live party with an international acclaimed DJ Frank Walker.
