Eco Fashion Week season eight returns on Sunday April 27 with…
This Friday’s MetroLivingZine Charity Fashion Show, benefiting Positive Living BC, is sure to attract Hollywood North’s elite. The July 22nd event is a fashion extravaganza with fabulous clothes, live music and the finest food and drink found in Vancouver.
The MetroLivingZine Charity Fashion Show is a showcase of luxury for Hollywood North’s women of film and fashion. Including opulent couture, sexy swimwear and seductive lingerie, this show offers up fashions that any actress would desire for her next exotic getaway or red carpet event.
Recently featured at Vancouver Fashion Week and in Vogue UK magazine, local fashion designer Grandy C, who excels in the art of traditional tailoring, is set to appear. Her label Grandi’s Atelier captures a bygone era where dressmaking and fine tailoring provided timeless beauty and elegance for discriminating women.
Also set to participate in the show is Bikini Empire, a swimwear line created with the goal of providing every woman with her “stranded on a desert island” bikini – sexy yet comfortable. Vancouver Island born-and-raised twin sisters Monica and Kelsey Rush, who are very much part of the local surf culture, collaborated on the line which is made locally from high quality Italian fabrics. Get ready for sexy bikinis, fitting for any starlet.
Flirtatious and provocative, Trash Lingerie is all about playful and confident women. Offering lingerie made from exquisite satin and luxurious lace, their pieces are not only seductive but also comfortable and well made with enticing peekaboo cutaways, sexy strappy details, luxurious jewels and glam rock colors.
Performing live at the event are Marilou Cantanjal, Sara Wang and Tiffany Desrosiers. If the fashion at the fundraiser doesn’t win you over, these three talented and beautiful vocalists certainly will. A performance by top Vancouver nightclub performer Mina Mercury, known for her impressions of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Pee Wee, Annie Lennox and more, rounds out this unmissable lineup.
The Master of Ceremonies for the show is David C. Jones whose talents range from acting, comedy and improv to writing and directing. His unique improvised comedy show, Tops and Bottoms, was an OutTV favorite and the Vancouver Sun raves that “making people laugh is second nature to David C. Jones.”
The evening begins with pre-event appies and dinner held in trendy Yaletown at La Pentola and continues around the corner at Bar None where the fashion show and live entertainment will take place. The event wraps up with an after party at The Refinery.
The sponsorship list is as impressive as the event’s lineup and includes AMJ Productions, Atelier Grandi, Audi Downtown Vancouver, Bar None, Bikini Empire, Christian Casadei Artist, Clandestine Productions, DCJ Productions, Donnelly Group, Elevated Jones Jr. Productions, Jireh Stone, Kleo Kinetic, La Pentola, Marilou Music, Mina Mercury, Paragons by Jack Wass, Photo Bug, Refinery Group, Sara Wang, Steam Whistle Brewery, Tiffany Desrosiers, and Trash Lingerie.
The MetroLivingZine Charity Fashion Show fundraiser hosts Hollywood North’s entertainment elite of actors and actresses, models, entertainers, film directors, talent scouts, makeup and hair stylists, costume and fashion designers on Friday, July 22nd. This is an evening of film and fashion glamour all for a worthy cause. And what better way to spend an evening than with fine dining, fabulous clothes and philanthropy?
